This works like the app’s Quick Note. A duration at the end starts a timer; a time like “by 5pm” sets a deadline. Press ⤒ on a note to tuck it into the notch.

Two small ears beside the camera show how many and the next countdown. Point at the notch and they drop down. No notch? A slim strip in the menu bar.
The note comes to the front and shakes. Allow notifications and macOS tells you too, even with the app in the background.

Only notifications, and only if you want them. macOS asks when you press Allow Notifications, on the welcome or in Settings, and StickyNotch explains what you’ll get first. It never asks for Accessibility, Screen Recording, Full Disk Access or an admin password. The ⌃⌥N shortcut works without any permission.
Notes still count down, and when time’s up the note comes to the front, shakes and plays a sound, while StickyNotch is open. You just won’t get a macOS banner when it’s in the background.
